Every year, the State Bank of India (SBI) holds a national SBI Clerk exam to hire applicants for Junior Associates (Customer Support and Sales) positions at its many branches around the country. SBI Clerk is one of the most popular bank exams today, with thousands of applicants applying every year. This exam consists of three phases and is administered as an online computer-based test:
- Preliminary examination
- Mains examination
- Language test
The preliminary examination is a one-hour computer-based test with 100 points divided into three sections. The mains examination, which is the second stage of the examination, is broken into four parts and carries a total of 200 marks. Only those who pass the preliminary exam are eligible to take the mains exam. The final phase of selection is the language test, which assesses candidates’ competency in their native language.
Last year, the preliminary examination for SBI Clerk was held from July 10 to July 13, 2021, followed by the mains examination in October 2021. This year, the notification for the SBI Clerk 2022 exam has not yet been released but is expected to be out by May 2022. Along with the SBI Clerk notification, SBI will also announce the number of vacancies for the post of Junior Associates for the year 2022. The initial salary for Junior Associates (Customer Support and Sales) positions ranges from Rs. 26,000/- to Rs. 29,000/-.

SBI Clerk 2022 Exam: Eligibility Criteria
A bachelor’s degree in any field from a recognized institute is required for applicants to apply for the SBI Clerk 2022 exam. Candidates in their final semester or who have not yet received their final exam results are eligible to take the exam if they can demonstrate proof of degree completion by August 31, 2022. Also, the applicants must be able to communicate effectively in the official language of the state or union territory in which they are applying. At the time of application, candidates must be at least 21 years old and no more than 28 years old. The age criteria are relaxed for the reserved category applicants.
SBI Clerk 2022 Exam: Application Process, Fees, Syllabus and Admit card
The application process for the SBI Clerk 2022 exam is entirely online, and candidates must go to SBI’s official website after the notice is released to submit their applications. Candidates should double-check all information supplied, such as name, registration phone number, email ID, address, examination centres, educational background, photo, signature, work experience, and so on, before submitting their applications. After filling out the application form, they must pay the application fees (if applicable) and retain a copy of the application along with the registration number for future reference.

Both the preliminary and mains tests for SBI Clerk 2022 will follow the same pattern and syllabus, although the difficulty level for the mains examinations is slightly greater. Reasoning ability, quantitative aptitude, and English language will all be tested on both tests. Candidates must keep in mind that there are negative markings for each incorrect answer. For each question marked incorrectly by the candidate, one-fourth of the total marks would be deducted.
Candidates who have registered for SBI Clerk 2022 will be required to download their admit card from the SBI’s official website. The copy will not be sent to them via mail or postal mail. Preliminary and mains admit cards will be released separately.
How to Check SBI Clerk 2022 Results?
SBI Clerk result for prelims and mains will be released separately and candidates can check their results on the official website after the results are released. The following is the process to check SBI Clerk result:
- Step 1: Visit the official website of SBI
- Step 2: Click on the “SBI clerk result 2022” link under “latest announcement tab”
- Step 3: Enter registration number, password/date of birth
- Step 4: Enter the image security code displayed on the screen and hit “log in” button
- Step 5: Result status, scorecard and cut off marks (varies for general and other categories) will be displayed on the screen
- Step 6: Take a print out of result and scorecard
Based on the performance of the candidate in the mains exam a final merit list will be prepared and SBI will release the merit list on its official website.
